Konstantina was born and raised in Athens and attended the Ionideos Model School.
She then went abroad to the United Kingdom for studying Computer Science with Innovation. While going through her degree, she took up a lot of units related to 3D. More specifically, she did projects on 3D Modelling, Character and Set Design and 3D Animation.
Intrigued by the difficulty and steep learning curve of the software available, she decides to start talking to known industry leaders in her city of studies, including Aardman Animations. Trying to find the latest state of the art for creating in digital 3D, she realises that the vast majority of the work is still done manually, with exorbitant costs and representing a big bottleneck for all industries relying on digital 3D content.
Following that realisation, she decided to devote her Masters on Deep Learning for 2D to 3D reconstruction, making the first proof of concepts for getting 2D images as inputs and returning their 3D versions. That project, led on Kaedim been officially incorporated and the startup journey started.
Kaedim was founded in February 2020, during Konstantina’s final year of university. It has been privately funded through 2 rounds since then by both VCs and angels with a track record in the space. The team is now 10 people strong with offices in London and San Francisco and they are preparing to raise their seed round later this year.
